About Anton Heyboer
Anton Heyboer (1924–2005) was a Dutch artist best known for his expressive drawings, etchings and mixed-media works. His works are characterised by an intuitive, almost archaic visual language that frequently explores personal, philosophical and spiritual themes. Over the course of his life, Heyboer developed a visual symbolism all of his own, expressed through lines, symbols and figures. His art oscillates between naivety and profound reflection and has a powerful emotional impact. Today, he is regarded as an exceptional figure in the 20th-century European art scene, whose works are collected and appreciated internationally.
