About Paul Wunderlich
Paul Wunderlich (1927–2010) was a prominent German painter, graphic artist and sculptor, and is regarded as one of the most important figures in post-war figurative art. He became known above all for his sensitive, often surreal-seeming depictions of figures and portraits. His works are characterised by elegant lines, harmonious compositions and a unique blend of reality and fantasy. He frequently explored mythological, literary and personal themes.
Wunderlich’s works have been exhibited internationally and are still represented in numerous major collections today. His art embodies a unique fusion of classical graphic art and modern expressiveness.
