The vibrantly coloured silkscreen print “L'amour au jour le jour” from 1996 is by Guillaume Corneille (1922–2010), one of the most significant figures of the post-war European avant-garde and a co-founder of the legendary CoBrA group. The work is an artist’s proof (EA 4/25) and is therefore particularly rare. It has been hand-signed and dated by the artist and also bears the Atelier Corneille stamp on the reverse, which significantly underscores its authenticity and collector’s value. Furthermore, the work is documented in the catalogue raisonné of his graphic works under number 408.

Typical of Corneille’s distinctive visual language, this work also features a lively, colourful composition that oscillates between abstraction and figurative representation. Guillaume Corneille was a leading figure in European modern art and a co-founder of the CoBrA group, which also included artists such as Karel Appel and Asger Jorn.
