About M.C. Escher

Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898–1972), known as M.C. Escher, was one of the most important graphic artists of the 20th century. The Dutch artist became world-famous for his extraordinary depictions of optical illusions, impossible spaces and mathematically inspired compositions. After studying at the School for Architecture and Decorative Arts in Haarlem, Escher developed a distinctive visual language in which art, geometry and the psychology of perception merge.
