This original lithograph, ‘Dans le ciel, le soleil – Nu sur le sofa’, by Corneille (1922–2010), was created in 1985 and combines the artist’s characteristic, colourful visual language with the expressive forms of the CoBrA movement. The work is hand-signed in graphite and bears the Atelier Corneille stamp on the reverse. It was printed on high-quality Arches handmade paper as an artist’s proof. The lithograph is in very good overall condition and shows only minor tears at the lower edge of the paper, which hardly detract from the overall impression. An expressive collector’s item for lovers of modern art.

About Corneille
Corneille (1922–2010), whose real name was Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo, was a co-founder of the international CoBrA movement and is regarded as one of the most significant European artists of the post-war period. His works are characterised by intense colours, poetic imagery and recurring motifs such as women, birds, cats and landscapes. With his distinctive visual language, Corneille created an extensive body of graphic work, whose hand-signed lithographs are now particularly sought after by collectors of modern art.
